Hello, i just bought this game on steam and i think it's a nice indie game, but did anyone test it?the zoom and minimap buttons don't work, the controls are wrong, in the keyboard controls options it says that F is for super attack, but it's actually D.The supposedly zoom or minimap buttons are actually USE buttons, the text said to use the "right stick" to zoom...then it said the RIGHT SHIFT, none working.I see there should be some online play but there isn't on the pc version, why? Also, no fullscreen mode or resolution options???Please remove any traces of the xbox version like Display Gamertag which is grayed out.

To say this is a "lazy" port is understating it.

I picked this up today on Steam as my 360 bit the dust (shock/gasp/swoon), and while I never bought it on the 360 I always found the demo to be cute and would be a nice diversion.

But jesus guys, is this stuff really esoteric? You don't have to be some PC fanboy with dual SLI'd Nvidia 580's to want the frickin' bare minimum when it comes to competently porting a game to the PC. The stuff missing here is just mind-boggling:

1) No resolution settings. Think 1280x720 looks like crap? Tough, that's all you get. Outside of frickin HASBO edutainment titles released years ago, what PC developer does this? Russian console porters who do it for free vodka can at least jump the massive technical hurdle that is *resolution settings*.
2) No full-screen, just maximize window - which of course due to lack of resolution options used linear scaling and as a result looks abysmal
3) Locked at 30fps. Yeah, it's not an fps, but 30fps just makes animation look far worse than it has to. It's been how many *years* since this was released on the 360? You really couldn't break through this engineering feat?
4) Look, I like the 360 controller. I'm a wierdo in the PC gaming world as I primarily game on my HDTV using my PC, but please - if you detect the user is switching to keyboard controls, at least adjust the on-screen prompts to reflect that. Judging from the post above me though, you couldn't even get the mapping right.

So, did no one respond to the beta tester request, or where the PC testers just all mental infants? Or was this basically recompiled on the PC and released?

You guys know there is a "ClydeSettings.exe" in the Steamfolder, right?
Letting you set the resolution and fullscreen.

Are you serious? The only resolutions are 640x480,800x600 and 1280x1024 and the fullscreen options was already checked, but in-game is not fullscreen so...Still there are many other problems with this game.

Glad I saw this before I bought it off of Steam. Lazy PC ports are becoming the norm it seems and after wasting $60 on Bioware's latest lazy PC port (DA2) I am not in the mood to waste any more money on companies who don't appreciate PC gamers.

Wow, dang...

We're aggressively working on an update now to fix a bunch of issues.

I assure you we put a lot of effort into this, including QA, so I'm very sorry about the problems that made it through, and I hope you'll give the updated version a chance.

We do care about PC gamers. We'll work hard to correct this stuff.

Thanks for the comments so far!

So any idea when the game will be optimized for modern PC's? It's been almost a month since we were told you were planning to update the game.

Not to be pushy but now it has been more than a month and we still haven't received any update. How long can it take to add new resolutions? Is this really being worked on or will it fade into oblivion and be forgotten about?

Garak,

If you are waiting for an update on resolutions then I have some good news for you. You don't need to wait for an update, you can set the resolution to whatever you want. To do so go into the install folder which by default is:

\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\cloning clyde\data\rawPCOnlyData

In this folder is a file called "defaultOptions.ini" which you can edit to change the resolution and full screen settings to whatever you like.

Will it stretch everything?

No, it doesn't stretch things to fit your specified size, it will actually change the resolution that the game plays in.

I do know that there is one being worked on but unfortunately I have no info on a release date for it. The thing with updates is that it is best to try and fix as many things per update as you can, rather than release several updates. With this in mind it sometimes takes longer to finish an update than one might think. I hope you won't run into any issues that keep you from playing. The most common issue I've seen people having is that sometimes the "full screen" doesn't work if using certain resolutions, the most common being 1280 x 720. I have even experienced this problem myself.

I am using 1920 x 1080 so hopefully I avoid that issue. I haven't started the game yet (I started My Life as a King a couple of days ago so I wanna finish that) but I have tested it out and it looks great. You're right, I didn't see any stretching. Still, it should be in the options since many people aren't comfortable modifying an ini file.
