I'm not talking about the Kefling strike where they stop working when you're still actively playing. I'm talking about when you set up all your keflings to mine and gather resources and want to let them just do that for a while. About after a minute of inactivity, they all sit down and stop gathering resources. I know this was in A Kingdom of Keflings, but this was one thing in the game that just annoyed me... and continues to annoy me. Sometimes I just want my keflings to work while I take a break. I even tried rubber banding my controller in one direction to simulate me moving, but the workers still stopped.

Playing paddy cake is just too much fun. I always do it when the boss isn't looking.
Wish I could have them work while I watch though, especially when I have 5000 stone in the way.

This is a bit of a old thread but I felt a strong need to respond. This design flaw is more than just an annoyance for me, its a limiting factor in game play. I worked in games for 15 years and despite my being involved in game design and production, my physical disabilities and encouragement to consider disabled players often fell on deaf ears. Unfortunately for most people, if it doesn't affect them directly, or at least a strong majority of players, they really aren't interested. I wasn't, until it happened to me. I simply am not able to continuously hold the controller to keep my keflings moving. I tire quickly and have to find convoluted work arounds. It becomes painful to hold the controller for the length of time it takes at some points in the game to gather resources enough to complete a task. I "phase out" for ten minutes at a time on some days, waking up to find that the game hasn't progressed at all. I have to choose the games I play based on these limitations when they come up and the selection is very slim.
Being disabled means, at least for me, not being able to leave my home for months at a time and having to depend on others to do mundane tasks. Its frustrating and maddening to loose control of your life like this, especially for someone like me who has always been fiercely independent. Games are the only escape I have from the pain and frustration of my daily life. It gives me a social outlet as well as a distraction and some level of pain management. I was astonished how many people are like me in the gaming community. I would bet that every one of you have a disabled player among your guilds and you don't know it.
The only reason I can think of to pause the game after a few seconds of inactivity was probably to prevent cheating. I would urge designers to consider the cost to players such as myself when weighing the merits of a feature such as this one, against the perceived reasons, real or imagined, for implementing it. For a game like this one, I can't see much of a justification for it in single player mode. It would be a simple fix, i would think, to disable it for people who fly solo. It would make the game much less frustrating and far more fun to play.

An option to turn this on or off, would solve this issue.
