Just a couple of things I think would be fun.

1) Destructable objects and buildings.
You could storm the base and attack certain walls and doors to gain access.

2) Real world elements
Like fire spells not working as well in rain, or players on fire being put out in shallow water. Ninjabee already did this with fire and ice, I just think it could be expanded on.

3) Mounts.
You could add mounts that players could gain in a battle that would increase movement or even add flight.

4) Single player campaign (Item shops and level progression)
The 1st game missions(including the 2 exps) had a great story and chars but I think instead of having the chars get random levels, they should really earn it, also there should be a world map with towns and stores to stop by for info and items and weapons.

How about teleporters or a mission that forces you to choose a bug to sacrifice in order to porceed?

So I'm barely scratching the surface of the game so I'm sorry if these may already be in but...

Secret unlockable units- I always thought it was neat in some series (Take FF: Tactics for example) that after meeting certain conditions you could unlock a cool secret character. How about, if the story is completely new in BoB2, towards the end of the game you could unlock Maal from the first game if you reach certain conditions? Or something to that effect.

Ridiculously overpowered units- Most people stopped reading there but hear me out. In games like Fire Emblem there are always those levels where you are put in an impossible situation then, after certain conditions are met like survive 'X' amount of turns, reinforcments show up and you take control of some super awesome butt kickin' units. Why not have a fun scenario like that? Ex: The main characters find themselves seperated from their large group. Suddenly they are ambushed on all sides! The entities keep spawning and relentlessly strike....Until The King of The Bug Kingdom and his Royal Guard show up in a rescue party! You've heard rumors about their legendary combat skills now you can use them yourself! I know it sounds a bit farfetched but I think it would make for a great level.

Elements- This may already be in the game. Maybe incorporate various elements into the game. Maybe an Earth spell could be raising a single square up higher. This could be used to raise an archer up higher or to protect a single unit from harm. To prevent this from being overpowered the spell could wear off after time. I know that Ice, Fire and Time based magic are all in the game perhaps Earth, Water, etc. could be in as well?

These are just my two cents of course. I love this game as it is and I'm really hoping for a Band of Bugs 2

Awesome. Thanks for the feedback! Some of this stuff is *sort of* in the current game. For instance, there are scripted levels where the terrain raises and lowers.

Hopefully this isn't a huge spoiler, but for destructible buildings, check out a particular level of the ToK DLC! :)

I liked the idea of some RPG elements for the single player. That'd be pretty epic. That, and the ability to select which units to bring along for single player side-missions and multiplayer missions.

I'd also like to see them take a page out of Blizzard's book here though: Make sure all the units we once had are still usuable in the editor! Honestly, I wouldn't mind at all if Band of Bugs 2 was effectively identical to the first, so long as there's a little bit more of everything.

And, although it ties in to my second point, go nuts with that editor again! My goodness did that ever drastically extend the life of the game to me. Such a great little tool to have.

On a related note, is there any plans for a Band of Bugs 2? Last time I was in here (About a year back) Stay had quoted financial responsibility as possibly holding the game back from a sequel. I sure hope that situation has changed, we really do need a sequel to this! =)

No big change on the likelihood of a Band of Bugs sequel, but I really appreciate the comments on features.

I think the biggest reason Band of Bugs has a potential future is that Jeremy and I still love it, despite the limited sales. :)

By the way, I can't recommend the TRIAL of Vandal Hearts, but if you're willing to skip the trial and just buy the game, or don't mind playing the first several levels over from scratch once you buy it, there's some great RPG Tactics fun there.

It is a good little game, but it's just not Band of Bugs. I do hope you guys do find a way to get a sequel going, especially if it's something you enjoy doing. Because it's certainly something we enjoy playing!

Just the other day I bought Band of Bugs along with Red Kingdom, Ninja Sticks of Fury, and Tales of Kaloki. So far I've beaten the regular single player, Red Kingdom and Ninja Sticks and I've just started tales of kaloki. I think band of bugs is already one of my favorite arcade games, but it's pretty sad to see that nobody plays it online. :(

Now for sequel ideas. :P I really enjoyed the single player for the game, I found most noticeably in Maals story. Was that I became really attached to the characters and surprisingly many points in the story were quite epic. If ninjabee were to go ahead with developing a second Band of Bugs, i'd love to see the same characters (including your Avatar) returning. (and don't forget the mysterious Ninja Bee)

Now certain problems Ive found with band of bugs, is that it can get somewhat frustrating, at times. Some of which is because the A.I. seems a bit too smart at times and completely avoid anything that could possibly have a negative impact on them, as well there are also certain unspoken preset strategies you must use to complete the mission successfully. I think that these are some of the things Band of Bugs falls short on and is why some people do not like it. I think that if a sequel were to be produced (Keeping my fingers crossed), certain things revolving around the game play, & mission design would have to be thought over.

I found a lot of interesting things in the dlc, including the siege mission in the Red Kingdom. As well as other things in the game like, the medic and mage characters those were very essential to the fun of the game.

Anyways I would like to apologize for my 4 Paragraph rant, thank you for reading lol

I don't know if I consider the hyper-intelligent AI a problem. Just the opposite, in fact, it makes single-player rewarding.

I was more so referring to how the A.I. seems to try the same tactics each time. I think they should be a bit more dynamic.

Although I do agree with that statement you made, "it makes single-player rewarding."

Thanks for the comments!

By the way, I love the siege level in Red Kingdom. That's one of my favorite levels in the whole game.

Yeah, like I said, maybe I'm just too easy to please, but if a few units were added, the editor given a little more breathing room and the humour kept up, I'd have no problem laying down some more money on a BoB2. :)

love the game, been playing it for the past 8 hours or so.

just one thought so far on any improvements in any sequels... targeting.... AARRRGGGG!

I'm finding the targeting as frustrating if not more so than it was in kingdom and world of keflings. It's really easy to loose the reticle while switching between targets and/or moving the camera around trying to get a better view of the map. Something as simple as making it a more contrasting color would probably help a lot, making it a translucent column or something that you could see when it's 'hidden' behind a 'hill' would be even better!

keep up the awesome work!

The translucent column is a good idea! I haven't heard a lot of complaints before about losing the reticle, but I can definitely see what you're saying.

Thanks! Glad you like the game!

Hey Stay (Oh, a rhyme!) I believe you have quite a few individuals who like the series, you know, just in case you needed any inspiration or anything...

...Just sayin'.
