Ok, so today my lawnmowing service guy comes and completely severed my cable connection. Completely. So that left me with no TV, no internet and even my phone was cut off. Nothing to do but play some Arcade games on my trusty 360 right? Wrong. 6 of my 10 games were trial versions. Including Cloning Clyde which was what I was trying to play.
So we all know that each arcade game is linked to the console and gamertag. We know this already crap. But, you must be online if you want to play games that have been purchased on another console (thank MS for giving me 3 faulty consoles). Again, this is crap.
I was not gonna play TotemBall, and hell if I played Robotron.
I called up MS. They told me to create a silver membership. You cannot create a silver membership (it forces you to go gold for a month). Let me backup a bit...you need an internet connection to go silv..err gold. I did get my internet back a few hours after the great lawnmower incident of 2006. What if I did not get my internet back...ever? What then would MS do?
Ok, back to the MS recovery. They told me that this is a very common problem, called it "Points after return" or something. I created my gold account which the rep tdumbly realized I was going to have rather than a silver account. I told them each game that was a Trial version and how many points they were (they had no idea how much each was worth). Told them my new gamertag...and my consoles serial #. I was then told that a supervisor was going to come on the line and authorize a point return. No dice. A few minutes later, I was told that the supervisor spoke to my rep via conference and told him that they would call me in 3-5 days while they send the information to...get this...MICROSOFT!!!! Who the *%#$ was I just talking to? WTF????
Anyway, I didn't really give a crap about the trial version thing. I was curious as to what they would do. The phone call only lasted 10 minutes and I did not wait to speak with a rep. Service was pretty good. However, that "point after return" system is pure garbage. Just gimme the damn points to my main account and be done with it.
What do you guys think (if you read all of it) ?
EDIT: Took them almost a month to give me 4000 points. Bad service, nice points.

Well nice that they might be able to give it back to you at all. I am going to call eventually for this if it works for you.

Outsourcing customer service is fun!!!
I wish MS would hire me for that. I'd use my Arnie voice all the time...

God...I'm not looking forward to going through all that myself...I'm still without internet at home (thus my recent and continued absence) and stuck with trial versions of most of my games...ugh.
Once you get the silver membership and all that...how does the "points return" work...they give you the points and you re-buy/download all the games again from that account? And that unlocks them for ALL the accounts on your 360?

They have not yet told me anything else. I'll update this when they do.

Ok, I called them up because they failed to call me back. They told me they are just waiting for the code for my 4000 MS points, and that someone will call me monday or tuesday with the details...
And sorry for the double post.
