I'm new here, but it's fantastic that this game is being released soon. I anticipated it come in the latter part of winter. I'll be sure to buy it on day one - I purchased a ton of microsoft points in anticipation of its release - and I'm hoping there will be some nifty DLC as well. While I would like to get as much Kefling content as possible, I don't have any interest in the other two arcade games that are being released, and the crossover content isn't enough to warrant paying that much money for games I don't want.

Welcome!

I'll tell you a secret: There's other crossover content, too. It's not as intense as the ilomilo and Raskulls content, but it's there!

Oddly enough, I loved the first game despite always playing it by myself. I don't live with any other gamers and I can't play online because of my satellite connection. I'll be playing World of Keflings all by my lonesome as well, but I'm sure it will be great.

Do you at least have friends on your friends list? There's an interesting community feature (but not requiring online play) designed just for you! And in AWOK you can get all the achievements without playing in somebody else's kingdom.

I have my avatar dressed up in a vault boy suit and vault boy head from Fallout 3 and it's hilarious seeing him run around the game world in the first one.

Haha.. I was pretty entertained with the full-body ninjabee suit in the game, and I loved seeing wolfmen and wookies running around in network games. :)

On the other hand, that spider closet DOES sound scary.

It wasn't to bad last time I was locked in there.

Haha, what did you do, make Justin angry?

I don't even like sticking my head in there. *shiver*

Spiders give me the shivers. O_O So much so, that if I see a spider in a game--even if I don't HAVE to kill it (Like the harmless ones on the wall in RE5) I will go out of my way to kill it--even if it results in the death of my character. In real life, I spray them with poison. Repeatedly.

...there won't be spiders in a World of Keflings...will there?

I have a few. Never saw much point in adding a lot because I can't play with anybody in the foreseeable future. The latency on satellite connections is brutal, and even if that weren't the case, there are numerous bandwidth limitations that would make playing games impractical. As it stands, I'm forced to download large files in the middle of the night because that's the only time they don't penalize you. I live on a mountain, unfortunately, so my ISP options are limited. Didn't even get access to municipal water until a few years back... Before that we had a well, and the water smelled like sulfer so we didn't drink it. It wasn't pleasant.

Good to hear about the achievements. Never was able to get those two online banner achievements in the first game. I really like to get 100% achievements for the games I love, so that really bothered me. I will definitely try to get them all for World of Keflings.

That does sound like fun. I have mine dressed as John Marstan from Red Dead Redemption. That wll be interesting to see a cowboy running around a mid-evil kingdom :D

I might get in trouble with my fellow NinjaBees for this whole thread. So, uh... please don't come visit without arranging it first!

I would have brought beer, summer sausage and cheese :) I am living in Wisconsin you know.

The first software company I worked for was 3 guys (self included) in a mobile home trailer. Hard to believe but yep, that produced some accounting software and medical billing software for MP/M systems (pre-windows, think 8" floppies and mag tape). Now imagine us cramed in a 2 bedroom trailer with computers the size of footlockers and dumb terminals in the Florida heat and a single window AC that barely could keep up. We had a fridge, thread bare couch, two(!) bean bag chairs fixed with duct tape and an Atari 2600 in the "Game Room". Wheee! Good times. Pole Position anyone?

As in, they give us fuel/motivation to continually purchase it over and over?

Anyway...

Does anyone know if there will be a release party? I plan on picking this up as soon as it is out! My wife and I LOVED the first and look forward to being able to play together on a single screen. I am very excited about this game.

Yeah, it's pretty likely we'll have a virtual launch party and give away schtuff. Most of the active people in the Ooga launch party got free stuff, though it's likely more people will show up at this party. Watch for an announcement in these forums and/or in the xbox.com forums.
