...or a party at least for the release of Clyde? I mean I'm already hearing about XBLA game #3 (aka swat).

If not, I think you need to hit up that XBLA party pack thing and get some free pizza at least!

In all seriousness though -- 1. congrats on the release again, and 2. what kind of overlap do you all experience in this kinda of a project to project turnaround period?

The people at Xbox had a party for the release of Cloning Clyde (look on Major Nelson and Trixies blogs, it should be there)

I tried to get that party pack, but they said now since 6000 people asked for them, they are doing only a few hundred randomly :(

Here's a video of that party for the lazy ones: via TriXie's MSN Space

Not surprising about that Party Pack thing...people will do anything for free MS Points.

Wow! I hadn't heard of the Clyde parties. Cooooool!
[Edit: Oh, wait, maybe this was THE party I heard of and didn't get invited to. :) It's smaller than I expected...]

Dang, that was a cool video.

The development of OKX and Clyde overlapped by about 4 months, I would guess. We've been working on Clyde a long time. But we didn't start Swat until a while after OKX was done. In the mean time, a lot of the OKX team worked on a publisher-funded project that's still not released. Then we started Swat, so that overlapped Clyde by a few months.

Now that Clyde is done, some of the Clyde team is working on other projects, some are working on Swat, and we're trying to figure out what happens *after* Swat. Always gotta be planning ahead... :)

For me, there's almost no vacation time, but I'm OK with that. JKN needed some rest, but he bounces back fast. The happy launch of Clyde helped get him off his lazy butt and back to work. Most of the rest of the team takes some time off after crunch times. We have relatively regular free-lunch party-like things, and movie outings and whatnot. We try to make it a nice place to work. :)

So Cloning Clyde has been a year in development...That means we have approximately 9 months to wait for Swat...

Actually, if you read those interviews, John talks about how Clyde has been in development for sometime like *5 years*...

I imagine "swat" is targetting a late 2006 (I hope) or early 2007 release as the average arcade title has about a 6 month dev cycle (or so I've heard) and it's already been in the pipeline for a little bit now. So, hopefully we'll get a peek at "swat" sometime this year.

Please.

Oh, and I finally watched that video too (couldn't before, at work) and that is like my dream: Xbox Sneak Peeks and Papa John's.
