If everything goes as planned in the next couple of hours, we're going to host a Band of Bugs level design contest, to be announced tonight.
My idea is to let forum regulars be the judges for this contest.
My current criteria is: Anyone who has posted more than 100 posts as of right now can be a judge. This means:
LunarDuality, staticwrap, ac91, Game Master 627, zee, dezombie, Lifeforce, Iduno, Sunnycool, ninedogger, Shr1Mp
(Holy cow, that's a lot of posts from Sunnycool in a short time)
Judging is voluntary. If you don't want to judge, let me know. If you do, also let me know. If you haven't told me one way or another in the next 4 or 5 days, I'll assume you're not interested.
Judges can't win the contest. If you want to enter the contest, let me know, and we'll take you out of the judging list.
If you're reading this and you want to be a judge but you're not in the above list and you've been an active forums member in some way, let me know and make a case for why you'd be a good judge (and why you don't want to enter the contest). For example, Kaeporo would be a good candidate, if he didn't want to enter the contest.
If we can't get enough judges from the forum regulars, we'll use NinjaBee people.
If this goes well, we'll do similar contest in the very near future.

Sure - I would like to be a judge. What's the prize for the winners?

I'd like to bee (intentional) a contestant, please!
Finally, a contest. This should push me to make some levels and also fine tune my all-conveyor belt one. Let the games begin

XD I love puns.
Anyway, why would I want to be a judge when I could be a contestant? I love the map editor.
How many can we submit? Can I do it right now?

Some questions.
1. How dare you not capitalize Zee? I shall never know happiness again.
2. Any specific way the contest is going to be judged? Like on looks, playability, balance, talent, bathing suit, etc....?
3. Are there a Podium? As in first place second, third?
4. Will the winning map(s) be part of a map pack?
5. As said before, how many maps may you enter?

Is it not the obvious answer?

As much as I would like a Ninjabee t-shirt and 4000 MS points I'll judge.

I'll judge, although that special edition tee sounds awesome.
And they spelled NinjaBee, Ninja Bee. NO SOUP FOR YOU!

*sigh*... It's not even that hard. The press release they're working from clearly spells it NinjaBee.
The special edition T-shirt is cool - it's a very bright yellow with a yellow and black logo. I like it.
Also, the official post for the contest is up.

It is IGN don't get to frustrated over it. As we mentioned in another thread with most gaming related media they do not check facts and seem to take MS Word's auto corrections as accurate over a press release in their hand.
I know I have high standards but when people write for online media they never consider themselves journalists, but people take everything they say as fact and they almost never fix errors unless being threatened by a company.
Pet peeve of mine. If you print someone then you have a resposibility to accuracy. Even The Onion has higher standards.

I'm guessing you enter the map on the other topic correct?

Since judging a contest like this was always a dream of mine (no, I'm 100% serious) I will *gladly* judge. I'm sure there are much more talented map designers than I so you all better bring your A game.
And in regards to IGN's ineptitude: they used the phrase "craete your level" for god's sake. I mean they can't use the "spell check correction" excuse on that one can they?
