I am pretty excited for the announcements at E3 this year! Every year the announcements are all huge. You get gamer overload for a few days!
This year, G4 is showing the keynotes live! That will be great, no more refreshing my browser for Live Updates on Joystiq and Kotaku.
It is weird how they keep saying it is going to be smaller this year, but the pre-E3 coverage is just as big as before. I guess the press will have the same privaleges though, and that is what I read anyway.
So, is Wahoo going to be showing off Space Station Tycoon this year? I am hoping we get some good coverage of it! I saw where Namco is showing off Ace Combat 6, so hopefully Space Station Tycoon will be there beside it.

"Not everyone has started getting wistful for the old format, however. Though his own Wahoo Studios was not invited to E3 07, Saga producer Jason Faller thinks the new format could fix some serious flaws with the old show."
Taken from here
That sucks.
I wouldn't doubt that SST is going to be there, but it doesn't sound like Wahoo is going to be there to represent it.

That does suck!
I read around IGN some and saw that Namco-Bandai will be showing SST, but I guess they are the ones doing it.
IGN had more stuff on SST than I thought it would! The character profiles are just amazing! Can't wait for it!

I agree, I have been yearning for more space entrepreneurship!

Does anyone else have the sneaking suspicion that the reason an arcade game hasn't been announced for this week, is because a HUGE one will be announced at the keynote speech tomorrow?

Seems likely. My bets would be on Bomberman or Wing Commander then.
Although I would be far happier if it was War World or Space Giraffe. Been playing a decent amount of the War World PC demo lately and I could see it replacing my online FPS play on XBLA.

It sure does look nice from what XBLArcade.com showed. I am not a huge mech game fan, but is this fast paced, unlike most mech games?

Yes, it is very fast. In many ways it is just a FPS reskin with a few added features, but it is well done. You get kit cusomization of squad shooters, destructable cover and some very well built deathmatch maps. Which as odd as it sounds all the current 360 FPSs seem to lack, but the speed of gameplay is what makes it fun. At times it can get ridiculously chaotic from explosions at that pace though.
Edit: oh they made an announcement on the 5th. Sounds like they are just settling on a price for now.
If they cen get Undertow, Puzzle Quest, Space Giraffe, Ikaruga, Rocketman, Wing Commander and Street Race out by fall this is going to be a nice but pricey summer gaming season.
Until Bioshock and Blue Dragon there aren't any retail games for the 360 that interest me really. Project Sylpheed seems to be more of a rental than a purchase.

What the...? Jason works for a completely different company. Wahoo Studios isn't his!
Anyway, yeah, SST is showing (yay!) but it's being demo'd by marketing people (eek!)
We don't have anything else showing that I know of, unless BoB happens to be on a Microsoft kiosk or something.

I was worried about that statement too...totally misleading. Is he doing contract work for you guys? It was probably just a generalization.

So stay, I know this isn't Wahoo.com, but how about a SST Forum? I guess you could set up some forums at Wahoo.com, but here seems fine.

Yeah, same here. Most of the great games coming out look like rental to me. I did try the Eternal Sonata demo finally from OXM Disc 73, and it was awesome! I haven't played a good RPG like that since I went through Final Fantasy on the GBA. Hopefully it will be good enough to get me back into the genre.
About the XBLA games, it sucks sometimes, but at others it is awesome. Not having many games meant a purchase was easier, but with almost 70 to choose from, it gets a bit harder.

I have been pretty discerning when it comes to buying any XBLA games. Retro stuff is pretty much a given that they won't be purchased. Even some of these original games feel pretty uninspired. There are tons of untapped goodness out there on the web, I hope they get discovered sooner or later.

No WONDER Stay has been so busy...and with "stupid stuff"...uh, E3....
Glad to hear SST is showing, but "eek!" is right with the marketing boys handling it. Let's hope they don't break it.
As for XBLA announcements, I imagine that this week's game will indeed be announced at the press conference. And as much as I love Bomberman, it would be a kinda let down. I'm hoping for something totally out of the blue. <shameless plug>I'll be covering all the E3 stuff from an XBLA perspective, so be sure to check out XBLArcade.com.</shamless plug>
There are a ton of XBLA games coming that I'm excited about, but like Staticwrap I am very wary. I purchase games very cautiously. And many games have arrived a bit flat like he said as well.
As for other stuff, Eternal Sonata -- still in love with that. Bioshock, Blue Dragon, Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, Halo 3, GTA IV, Rock Band, GH III, etc. etc. etc. = me broke.

I will be watching it live! Can't wait. Even though I will be working, I can sneak in some internet time.
You added to that post, I caught ya.

Nice catch. Yeah, I'll be watching live too. Excited.
Excited about all three actually. This is the time that Nintendo pretends to show support for 3rd parties (don't worry I still want Space Station Tycoon, like now) while just showing massive amounts of amazing first party stuff. And it's really put up or shut up time for Sony. They've got the price cut that everyone's been begging for...now what will they do with it?
