I'm thinking Halo is looking better...The co-op indeed has gotten me hyped...here we go again.
In my opinion I doubt Halo will surpass HL:2 (and episodes) as a single player game. Having said that the best online parts of HL:2 are from mods and not including all the official ones really hurts it as a console game.
Halo is playing to all the 360's strengths with online co-op, heavy multiplayer options, match making and basically every other feature. I love HL:2 on the PC, but the sandbox options on Halo alone really puts the Orange box to shame. Give the orange box Gary's Mod and then things would change a little.
If you have to choose one or the other then Halo is probably the way to go. Also Hl:2 (single player only) is on the BC list. I don't know how well it actually plays, but used copies are ~$10 or less now and are sure to plumet with the orange box release. So you can still play it for the single player on the cheap, but in low resolution. Graphics wise it has long been surpased anyway. The story and gameplay is why people still play it solo.
Very well said. However, I'll be getting HL:2 OB as much for Portal as anything. I know they said it'll only take 6-8 hours to complete Portal...but that game blows my mind everytime I see it and I just can't wait. Oh, and Team Fortress 2 looks fun...and seriously, 5 games for $60!
@AC91: that *is* hardcore. I need that extra $60 for some other game...like say, HL:2 Orange Box.

BTW, with the recent 1 million preorders for Halo 3 announcement they said that the Legendary edition would likely sell-out BEFORE the launch so if you're doin' it, get your order in soon!
@dezombie: that deal is callin' my name...but there will likely be some HUGE Halo 3 launch event in NYC that I'd want to go to and buy stuff there...dunno...don't want to be left out in the cold.
Oh, but I will spring the extra $10 for the collectors edition of halo 3. I like featurettes and stuff!
