Pick two and TWO ONLY! (cause I don't have money for more myself )
It is hard really. Army of Two, Mercenaries 2, Medal of Honor: Airborne, GTA IV, and many more, but if I have to pick two I am not that much in doubt:
Halo 3 and Mass Effect.
Halo 3 is a must-have naturally and I am a huge fan of all the beyond-the-games stuff and the novles by Nylund are awesome.
Mass Effect looks like it's going to be the best RPG experience ever! Every time I see new content from that game, it looks even more amazing, original, innovative and plain COOL! I especially like the adaptive combat system, as I plan on playing as a shooter for the first time I play and then a more "rpg"ish type second time!
What do you pick?

Mass Effect and Eternal Sonata for now.
Halo 3 is starting to interest me more, but overall my must get list is generally XBLA titles.
Space Giraffe, War World, Puzzle Quest (especially if it has XBL multiplayer like the PC demo suggests on the load screen), Undertow, Ikaruga, Street Race: NYC...and some retro titles...
Just bought a $70s in points with that Circuit city deal, but I don't think that will be enough.

I'm going to say GTA and Mass Effect. I need some games to last, and Halo won't last past the single player campaign for me...although the 4 play sounds mighty nice...

Not really. Don't know why...probably because people take it way too seriously. That's what put me off of Halo 2. Splitscreen was fun though.

If the Orange Box included Day of Defeat: Source, Counter Strike: Source, and Garry's Mod I would snap it up even at $80.

Ah - I know what you are talking about!
But Halo 3 might take some of that away as you can now join in Custom Games outside your freinds list and obviously outside matchmaking - and matchmaking was where people were/are insanely serious about every kill.

No offline coop and no counter strike terminates that one for me.

No Windows Live intergration is what kicked it for me. PS3 may still get to play PCs however. I already own the HL2 and Episode1 and honestly co-op wouldn't work well, but I could accept that if it had all of the Valve multiplayer releases and a bot option for split screen (like the one from Condition Zero).
Valve games are great, but they don't have the console extras to really be a massive blockbusters as far as sales go. Short sighted in my opinion.

Yeah I know - I didn't say that it's because they didn't add it. I also don't think it would work out with the gameplay and all.
Valve on consoles just doesn't give me the kicks. I mean - their territory is PC gaming and that's what they do best, but we will have to see...

Really? I heard that the 360 users maybe able to play the PC users but not so for the ps3, as it is being ported from a U.K developer and they don't have the sdk for it. (I read this a while back. So I don't know if it changed.) Doesn't matter though since mouse + keyboard is 1000 times better then a controller for FPS.
Also There is mods for HL2 to play it for co-op. As there was for HL1.

I will be buying this one! dezombie wrote: Sunnycool wrote: You don't like Halo multiplayer? Garry's Mod is awesome. I think those would be a steal at $80 too. I spent many hours on CS 1.6 PC.
So two games in that time frame... That is fairly hard.
One is Halo 3. I love multiplayer with my friends, so replayability is a lot. Especially with online co-op now.
I know I am buying Space Station Tycoon as well at the end of August. Since it is already a definite buy for me, I have to put it. I really think it is going to be good.
Now the games that are missing out. GH3 and Rock Band will be in my house this year. If there is one time to buy more videogames than you normally do, this is that time! I think I might pick up GTA4 as well. Is the Orange Box set to hit this year? If so then I will get it too.

October 9th...
Yeah Half-Life 2 series are very good games, but that release dat on 360 is not going to be good for it.
Team Fortress is one of my favorite gametypes, but if the sandbox options of Halo 3 actually work as well as the reviews then I don't see how it will compete. Having said that if I can find a used copy fora good price I do want it. Just think it would be a better purchase on the PC.
