Where is my Crazy Taxi (or blatant rip off)!
Crazy Taxi is one of my favorite arcade games. I have even considered purchasing a cabinet...well until I realized a restored non-quarter version is averaging about $1.25k.
Alright, had to vent...back to defeating AC91 !

Or you could:
Buy a Dream Cast and get Crazy taxi 1 and 2.
Buy an X-box and get #3.
Buy a ps2 and get #1.
Just a few options.

I have a Dreamcast, but it is on its last legs. Finding replacement parts is getting rather difficult/pricey at this point.
I honestly figured with all of the Sega games coming to XBLA Crazy Taxi would be one of them. Even more so since they haven't made the xbox Crazy Taxi BC.

It's going to the PSP, but it's the PSP. I would imagine SEGA starting with the really retro stuff before they start getting to the DC.
My DC still works, but I have to put a piece of tape on the top of the disc to get it to spin perfectly horizontal.

If you have a good enough computer, you could use an emulator to replace your DC. As long as you own the original game it's not really illegal. If you don't... well, you can still play it but then the whole legality thing takes a turn.
From what I understand DC emulation is pretty good, but I've never tried it so I am not sure how Crazy Taxi would run. I would like to play the game, too. I have no idea where my DC and games went and that was one of them

That's unfair... The maps were obviously made so I couldn't win!!!
About Crazy Taxi. It was a fun game, but I spent maybe $2 on it in an arcade... lol. Never experienced the console versions.

The standing to play cabinets are a lot more fun than the full seat sit down kind. There is a store which restores and sell arcades of all kinds (actually some brand new ones also) which I wander through on occasion and drool.
Crazy Taxi is one of their fastest sellers and there is generally a reservation list for them. The different versions range from ~$750 (no mods) to over $5k. Out of my price range for sure.
Eventually I hope to get one of the table style two player tables that pizza places used to have. They are generally combination units with 5 or 6 games in them and only cost ~$150 to ~$400 depending on the games and modifications. They go higher actually for decorative wood cabinets and such, but I don't know why a game cabinet would need a decorative wood or a hand finish.

Blasphemer! I need decorative solid oak to focus on the games, I tell you, solid OAK!
