Anyone try Xevious or Rush'n Attack yet?

I didn't have free time last night, but I'll play them tonight for sure.

Also, this is a pretty interesting thread about a Mad Tracks release:

Haven't tried them yet.

And I guess I dropped the ball on the usual "X coming out this week!!" thread that I usually post here.

I used to love playing Rush'n Attack on my GBA SP but not sure I'd want/need to play it in HD. Xevious...(braces for impact)...I've never played. Is it fun?

As for Mad Tracks...the word is May 30th as it states "May 2007" on xbox.com. But we all know how accurate that site can be.

Rush'n attack= One trick pony.

Xevious= Played one 80's space shooter, played them all IMO.

Mad Tracks= Wow, that looks pretty darn cool!

Oh, and I forgot to say (about Mad Tracks) that we already know (via Load's site) that the game is certified. So, it coming out soon seems likely.

Yeah, that is where my experience comes from with this. The game is basically the same on Live, and I really didn't care for the GBA version.

Xevious could be fun if it wasn't so slow. I would think the other levels get more intense, but the first one is just boring.

Mad Tracks looks great. The OXM review made me really want this game.

I played both games last night, and here's what I think:

Rush'n Attack sure is hard. I played it when I was younger, and I don't remember it being this hard. Still, I'm more interested than I thought I would be.

Xevious: This may be the first trial experience on Live Arcade that has actually made me LESS interested in buying the game than I started. The trial run is short, abrupt, and heartless. I like Xevious. It's a cool game. But fie on the infinitesimal trial experience!

Basically though, what you played in the trial is exactly like what the rest of the game is like. Games like these I don't I have a problem with the small trial, because the learning curve is pretty non-existent. It's instant action, whereas a original IP game will probably be longer, so you understand fully what the game is about (I'm sure you probably already know that though... :D ).

Then (as you probably know from reading my previews) you will LOVE Band of Bugs. Tons of pre-purchase content to toy around with. But just the surface of the game's depth.

Yep, I remember that. In fact, lets hope Stay leaves in the gamerpicture(s?) unlock during the trial too!

On the subject of gamerpictures, I like the ones in which you need to work for it. Like beating GoW on insane nets you a cool pic. Or getting 10,000 kills nets you a pic in which you know not many are going to sport. I wonder if Stay is taking notes here.

Wow, 10,000 bug kills...

Why are you all even talking about the trial... Seriously, I already am dying for this game, which will lead to an automatic buy.

The kills thing is for GoW. Something I will never achieve.

I bought GoW with my 360 and I have yet to finish it on easy even...

I beat it on normal and insane (as Marcus and as Dom). I really enjoyed the co-op.

I beat it on Easy (I think, can't remember what difficulty) when I rented it. Pretty short game, but fun I guess.

I just never get into GoW. It probably doesn't help that my girlfriend called Marcus Fenix a "pretty pretty princess".

Back to sorta on topic...Xevious is alright I guess, but the next vertical shooter I buy will be Ikaruga. Compare the two and Xevious just doesn't seem worth the points even if Ikaruga is not coming until fall/winter of this year.
