I seem to have successfully pre-ordered a Wii. I tried gamestop this morning but the line was pretty long.
Later today, I was walking out of FYE when I met a guy handing out advertisements for a brand new (opened today) local game store (TradeNPlay). I walked into their store and was the first person on their list for Wii pre-orders, and they claim they've been guaranteed at least four.
Pretty lucky, since other people waited in line overnight to get on lists. I would be skeptical of these guys' ability to deliver, but they're a small chain and seem pretty serious, and the guys behind the counter knew what they were doing.
Lane (our CFO) was with me, so he preordered another one, and two more people from our office immediately went and signed up for the next two as well.
Now, it may not be a big deal (maybe there will be plenty) but we were all planning on getting one for sure, so it's nice to be on an official list somewhere.

I got an e-mail from Gamestop saying that they will only accept pre-orders today due to "very limited supplies" or something along those lines.
It doesn't matter, anyway. I am going to wait for some reviews to find out just how well the controller works with games and how much fun it actually is. If I hear a lot of positive things, I will pick it up off of the shelf.
Oh, and it had a picture of the console in the e-mail, of course. Surprisingly, I have not seen it before. And wow, is it ugly.

Hmm... 'Sony Decides PS4 Primary Controller to Be Light Gun'.
'Microsoft Announces Xbox 82512515 Will Use Circular Saw as Controller'.
'Nintendo's Next Console to Use Primary Butt Pad Controller! Exclusive Pictures From Japan'.
Honestly. Gimmick controller games don't tend to perform very well. I don't know why you'd make a gimmick controller console.

I dare you to say that to an anime fan. They scream song incoherent guitar hero crap, grind thier retainers, then get so made their zits burst in unison.
Sure gimmicky games suck donkey balls, but I miss old school nintendo. Emulators just aren't the same... If the Wii could only play Genesis games...

You know what I'd like to see in 10 years... full suits that work as controllers. Like a mix between the PowerGlove and a Tron suit. Sure, sports games would be cool and all; but just imagine a Sonic game where you have to roll up into a ball!
NOW DAT ID AW AWTHUM!!!

Such necromancy without even an obligatory "Risssssssseeee from your Grave"
Standards are falling these days.
Guess bots don't do post mortem communications with threads often.

yeah they don't, but I also guess the forums person is new to spam bots and some try to think as well How ever I didn't need to pre-order my wii when I got it, but then again I don't use it now either.
