Alright boys and girls...I've got a bit of a confession to make and I wanted to make it to all of you first since this is where it all started for me.

This past weekend, NinjaBee flew me out to their office in Utah to meet all the people there, sign massive NDAs, and get a sneak peak at Band of Bugs and Space Station Tycoon. In return for such remarkable generosity I will be doing some writeups for them about their company culture and upcoming games. So, I will let you all know when I get stuff finished and posted out on the tubes (hopefully soon). Hopefully you'll dig them.

Of course, there is a down side to having this opportunity. 1. I now have serious withdrawal from Band of Bugs (it's a *problem*) and 2. I've been disqualified from a bevy of cool contest ideas that will hopefully be smattered about after Band of Bugs gets released (we shall see which ideas develop into actual feasible reality).

So, keep your eyes peeled for my articles/writeups/whatever they turn into and for a bunch of cool stuff coming up around the time that Band of Bugs releases (when that will be, of course, I can't talk about).

Cheers.

A few notes from me:

1. We consider this a big experiment. The idea came up around the GDC, and we kicked it around a bit and finally said "eh, what the heck! let's give it a try, and if it turns out to be a bad idea, well, OK!"

2. We've talked about some kind of open "NinjaBee gamer day" event where we invite anyone from the forums to come have food and play upcoming games. The details are a bit complicated, but it might be fun. If we continue with this idea, I'll post to the forums asking for feedback.

3. LunarDuality is obviously a huge supporter of the NinjaBee community (with more posts than me on these forums and plenty of activity on others, helping people with our games and maintaining threads and more...) but there are some crazy active people on the forums (AC, staticwrap, zee, game master, lifeforce...), and I feel bad that we weren't able to invite all of you. :( Maybe we can, in the future! If you have any ideas along these lines, please let me know!

You were right in choosing Lunar, as your reasons were enough to prove. HOWEVER, he does let too much spam in, so that is a negative . Other than that I can't wait to hear what other plans you've been tossing around. Whatever comes of this, i'm happy to see that you brought some joy to Lunar, and a mild case of friendly jealousy to me.

The real question is...what kind of shwag did you give Lunar?

Yeah...where's my schwag?!?!  I did get one small thing. Oh, and not only do I have Band of Bugs withdrawal but they got me hooked on these "Zingers" that are basically small twinkies with vanilla icing. Damn I ate way too many of those while there and I don't think they sell them here.

Okay...now I've edited this post like 80 times...BUT...the other funny thing about my trip was *when* I travelled...like the fact that I arrived in Utah at 3AM...that was fun. But not as fun as taking another red-eye back to NYC to arrive here at 5:30AM. Thank god I avoided having to work my temp job on Tuesday!

The sad thing about the schwag is that all I really wanted, was "the napkin", signed by Jeremy to be framed on my wall...

...Okay...I'm obsessed, I admit it.

Lunar, I now hate you so much. Nah, not really. Just way too jealous

Unfortunately, that would be near impossible because of my parent's work at home. They cannot leave for more than a day before they need to get back to work. [secretmessage]ButHey,ICanStillTestLikeWeWereTalkingAboutAWhileAgo!ThatCanBeDoneFromMyHome :D [/secretmessage]

Whoa, did you see something there? How strange.

Heheh...

Asking active forums friends to test or evaluate unreleased new games is one of those things that might work well for us. I'll need to figure out NDA paperwork and whatnot. Gotta keep everything a secret, of course... :)

Stay, I'll go, but you'll have to pay shipping. I'll settle for a crate in the hold.
Maybe a few bugs, y'know, something to eat on the journey.

I have no parental restraints thankfully at this stage in my life, and I would be very willing/able to attend secret blindfolded extravaganzas. I make my own work schedule, so it allows me to be very, very lazy (but willing). I'll settle for an speedy release Band of Bugs though (please tell me there isn't a character named Blenda in that game...).

@Lifeforce...lol. I'll send you some bugs if you need some protein on that long boat ride.

Yes, I fully understand that any awesomeness my eyes are subjected to is fully confidential, and if I were to tell anybody, I would have to kill them. I'm not really the type to do that, though, but I understand that it would absolutely have to be done...

At first I thought the confession was "I flew to Ninjabee and stole Band of Bugs to play...and I lost it.... Sorry guys..."

Sounds like a sweet trip! Play BoB, Space Station Tycoon, and meet all of the awesome people at NinjaBee! I want those write ups soon Lunar! :D I bet you got a release date or something right? More story? Can you answer our questions from the forum interview thread? Any pictures? Forget NDAs, we are more important!

Contests...I like contests... Of course I sucked at the Wraeth one, but did pretty well on the Cloning Clyde one! :D

Stay, don't worry about not inviting us (or specifically me, I guess I can't talk for everyone else :P). Lunar has been an extremely active member, he deserved it. Besides, I am the resident young guy on the forums who would still have to deal with the whole school thing, lol.

Alright, Lunar, get to writing!

In general, our contests will be worldwide, assuming you can access our games from wherever you are.

Iduno, if you follow the olympics, Utah was home to the 2002 Winter Olympics.
