I downloaded this game for my son earlier today for the Xbox 360 and then downloaded the patch/update for the game. Whenever he goes to play the game, the "Xbox Live Arcade" logo shows on the screen and then it looks like it's loading but then just goes back to the list of games. We have deleted and re-downloaded the game twice and it still does the same thing. Any ideas?

Hmm... that's not good. Since I haven't heard of this from anyone else, I'm guessing this is something specific about your system, though I wouldn't have the first idea what.

Crazy random ideas:

* Clear the cache ( http://vgstrategies.about.com/od/xbox36 ... 0Cache.htm ) and re-download the update?

* Move the game to another storage device and try running it from there?

* Clear the cache and run the game and don't agree to download the update, and see if the game runs. (The update is mostly to add warning messages about autosaves, so if you're careful to manually save, you don't really need it if you're willing to play offline)

* Contact Microsoft support and ask for help?

Thank you for all the suggestions but none worked. However working from your suggestions, I deleted the Game - Cleared the cache - re-downloaded the game and it works great.

I was thinking about it more - the game behaves this way (exits immediately) if it can't find its files (either the main game or the title update files). So, I was thinking clearing and reinstalling things had a good chance of working - some file must not have been installed correctly somehow...
