I just have no idea if and how most people will use the feature, so I'm curious.
Thanks! Sure, there are 3 of us playing. My GF and I in the same room and my son in the next room. My GF and I communicate just fine but my son has to scream from his room. It can get annoying because it is such a nice, relaxing game that screaming doesn't suit it. When we play Age of Empires III the screaming isn't quite as distracting because that isn't a relaxing game. A chat option would be helpful if possible. We have all played the XBOX version and I think we are all experienced players. Thing is, we are all experienced in Single Player mode so we had to adjust to working as a team. Not hard really, as long as you all agree on how your Keflngs should be distrubuted (or allow each player to choose a resource and a set number of Keflings and let them gather resources in their own way). For example, some people like to have all yhe woodcutters walk the wood back to workshop while other prefer to have them make a pile and let another Kefling be a full time transporter. Well, I just bought the game yesterday and today has been busy but last night we put in about an hour and a half I would guess. We did run into a problem though. Last night when we quit it hard locked the game. We think it was because my son was the last one to join but the first one to quit because when he quit...the other two machines locked up. I was in first (Win 7), my GF was in second (Win 7) and he was in last (Win XP). We thought that maybe we should have quit in the order we joined. We haven't had a chance to test it since. Of course it could be the different OS's too. LAN is alot of fun but a chat option would save me money on Aleve (LOL). Oh, one question, how do I kick the sheep in the PC version? BTW, last night I checked out one of the DLC maps on the 360 version and I can't wait till those maps hit the PC version.

Awesome! Thanks for the details. Chat: Yeah, we thought about that. We eventually figured you'd either be in the same room or you'd have some other communication system like Skype set up. You might consider something like Skype... That's what we use when my friends and I play Civ IV online. Transporters: As a note, dedicated transporters are much more effective than keflings assigned to harvest *and* carry. This wasn't the case initially, but we changed it in a title update on the Xbox (and carried that into the Windows game) because transporters were so weak... So, it's generally a good idea to have some specialized transporters. But it's all good. Lock up on exit: Huh. We'll look into that. Which games locked up? All three? (In theory, you should be able to quit in any order. In fact, quitting in reverse order as you did should put less strain on the system.) Kicking Sheep: Uh, hmm... Seems like you can't. That's ... sad! I'll talk to the team about that, too. Thanks again for the notes!

The sheep kicking thing....yeah...kicking a Kefling across the screen is always good for a laugh but the sheep are also hilarious as they sort of do the splits. On the transporters, yes, I remember when you guys applied the update allowing Transporters to carry 3 instead of one. I guess though...that I just can't break old habits and I still do the harvest and carry method unless they are on the other side of the map. Thanks for not ripping my head off for installing it on all my home PC's.

Wait, you INSTALLED A COPY MORE THAN ONCE?!?!? Nah, that's cool. Thanks for buying the game at all! Transporters: It doesn't help that we don't explain the 3-resource transporter upgrade anywhere in the game (it was just a stealth fix) AND the tutorial specifically teaches you to assign a single kefling to harvest and deliver...

Also looking into Band of Bugs for the PC. Isn't it sort of like Final Fantasy Tactics, only with bugs?

Yep, basically! It's a tactics game, so it's directly in that subgenre. It's quite a bit more casual and less complex than FFT, but it has a lot of depth on its own, including a built-in level editor!

You guys ever think of doing something like Lemmings?

The closest we've gotten is probably Boingz for WiiWare. Not really lemmings, but the tone is a bit similar in some places.

Just one quick question about Band of Bugs, can I not change the screen resolution? I don't see the option, does the full version have it?

You can change it by hand in the settings.ini file.
Wherever you installed the game there's a folder called "fsall" and in there is "settings.ini"
You can edit those values directly. For example, you can change FullScreen mode, and set XScreenRes and YScreenRes to something else...
You can do the same thing in AKFK, but we also gave you an interface for some of those things.

May I suggest Teamspeak? Its easy to set up the client and the quality is quite good. All you need is a headset with a microphone. It will work with the PC speakers and some sort of microphone but a headset/mic combo is better. You are welcome to use my teamspeak server at ts.wolfiesden.com port 28260 There is a Keflings folder with a few sub folders or you can make a temp private channel for your own play.

Thanks! I play with two of my granddaughters(11yr/o and 9yr/o). The two girls use my two laptops and I use my PC. I tried it on the 11yr/o's netbook I bought her and, frankly, it doesn't run well on it. It plays Cooking Quest and most of the flash games like Disney's Faeries and Club Penguin so it surprised me when AKFK didn't run for squat. Sometimes we are in the same room, sometimes not. We use TS3 when not. We all played (or still play) it on the Xbox. Some form of text chat would be cool to have but with TS3, you really don't need it but I admit there are alot of people without access to headsets and/or some sort of voice chat software. Play sessions can be anywhere from an hour to several. I too admit I only bought one copy to start with but I do intend to get at least one more copy before the special is over so the girls have a legit copy to play when they go to sleepovers and the like.

But it won't run full screen in a resolution your monitor doesn't natively support. Can you try 1920x1080 windowed? Or 1280x720 or something? Also, it'll only run at a resolution that high if you have a really nice video card.

The native resolution of my monitor is 1920 x 1080 (@ 60Hz) and I run Oblivion in that resolution set to Ultra High, so the video card is capable. The video card is an NVidia 9600 GT. I also run Windows in that resolution as it's native to the monitor. It just seems to run in a box (not a window) aligned to the top and left (ie, there is a black area to the right and below the box) in full screen. It's no biggie, I can just get it on the 360 and get 1080i.
