Q: What are the books for? A: You'll use them later for a guild hall and some schools. You can ignore them until you find a blueprint that asks for them.
Q: How can I get more books? A: There are 3 ways to get books:
1) Right when you build a building that requires a book (guild hall, primary school, secondary school) a book will drop at the town square. Go check there. 2) There are books hidden in piles of resources throughout the world. Try the upper area and the upper-right area. 3) Finally, if you're desperate, you can temporarily break a building (like the guild hall) and take books out of that and put them back later.
Q: How do I build a keep? A: Do the following:
1. Build up to the Contractor's Office. 2. Build and activate the Guild Hall 3. Build and activate Primary School 4. Build and activate the Loom and Witch's Hut 5. Build and activate the Secondary School 6. Build and activate the Woodcarver and Brick Mason 7. Build and activate the Keep Workshop 8. The Keep is unlocked!
Remember to confirm that each building is activated, otherwise the next blueprint in the tech tree won't unlock. In some cases this requires things like putting keflings or books (see above) in the buildings.
Remember that to truly finish the keep, you'll need to add one keep add-on. The mayor will ask for this and explain a bit.
Q: How do I build a factory? A: The factory comes after the keep (see above). The factory is referred to in quests and other blueprints before it's available, so you just have to hold off on those.
Q: What are the blueprints in the upper-right of the tech tree that I can't unlock? A: When the mayor gives you two mutually exclusive quests, one unlocks one chunk of the tech tree and the other unlocks another chunk. Since they're mutually exclusive, you only get one or the other, and part of the tech tree will always stay locked, depending on which path you choose. You can play from a saved game or start a new game to experience that other path.
Q: How do I get more keflings/love? A: Love (big red hearts) is an item you can put in a house/cottage/manor to give you 2 keflings. You can get Love by completing quests for the Mayor/Lord/King or by finding them hidden under resources around the map. The Love will appear when the finite resource it is under has been completely depleted.
Q: How many keflings are possible? A: There are 41 possible keflings if you don't pick up the shoes before the Mayor gives you the quest to find the shoes. If you pick up the shoes before you get the quest, the maximum keflings you can get is 39.
Q: Why won't my final castle parts finish the castle? A: You need to connect your castle parts to the castle with a castle wall or another castle part, not a keep wall or keep part. You can just build the new parts directly touching the base castle, if you want to avoid the confusion.
Q: How do I get the World Traveler Achievement? A: Show up in a game with 20 unique banner towers. There are several of these floating around online - once you find one, get the host to kick you, and then save the game for yourself to host for your friends so they can get the achievement!
Q: How do I get the Friend Achievement? A: Be present in the game when 10 unique banner towers (not yours) are built. This can work across sessions. So if you hang out in a few online games and encourage new players to build banner towers when they join, it shouldn't be too hard to get.
Q: How do I get the Vanity Achievement? A: Experiment with arranging certain statues (from the sculptor) together.
Q: How do I get the Big Bully Achievement? A: Really, you probably already know how, and you're just wondering how much of it you have to do. The answer is: 30
Q: Is there local multiplayer or online vs. mode? A: No, there is no local multiplayer or online vs. mode. Local single-player and online co-op only.
Q: Will there be DLC? A: DLC is in the works! It's going to be relatively simple, related to customizing your town.

I don't know of a way to mess it up. You'll always end up with some you can't do, if that's what you mean. To clarify a bit: Unlocking the blueprints in the upper right corner depends on which quest you take later in the game (merchant or gypsy). They're mutually exclusive, so you can only do one set or the other. So, you probably didn't mess anything up. Sorry, it's not very well explained in the game.

It's components that trigger the decision... One is 5 curios of fortune and the other is 5 offices.

Deadboris wrote: is there any way that you could mess up getting the blue prints for the upper right corner? maybe With the right timing you can get all the blueprints. Make 2 contractors buildings and have a friend and make 4 offices and 4 of the other ones, then get the other one ready. Hold at 4 and then count to 3 or any number you want then you both pick up the piece and MAYBE you get all the Blue Prints? I never got anyone to actually do it

I have two questions:
Is there a way to move the town square or the basic workshop? (The menu screen when the game first loads shows the town square offset from the workshop, but whenever I play it seems like I am forced to build the town square directly below and can't move it later.)
Does the PC version have the same limit on # of blocks as the X-box version?

Town Square: Yep, no way to move it. Sorry. (This is changed in A World of Keflings, but I realize that doesn't help you very much right now.) Piece Limit: Hmm... It might be higher in the PC version. Jason (jeyefunk) should know...
